SCOM 2012 - QMX Netcool Connector

Hi Guys,

I am setting up my SCOM 2012 environment (moving from SCOM 2007 SP1 with fully working QMX and Netcool Connector)

So I have got the latest QMX BF and Netcool Extension, set it all up (64bit) and all the SCOM connectivity tests work fine.

I have configured everything the same for the Netcool Probe and everything seems to be fine.

However, every time the connector tries to collect an alert and forward it nothing gets sent.

The log shows errors, which I will include below, but it seems that it cannot look up the MIBs to me and is sending a default Minor alert from the standard Microsoft MIB

QMX log shows this, I have highlighted in Red the problem bit as far as I can see it.

Just installed the Weblogic extender and it does not seem to be communicating with SCOM.  I have added the community strings that the UNIX admins gave me am I missing steps?  There was documentation with the download from the Dell website.

Life Line Please, simple connection, big problem.

Here is the deal, help me fix this, I guarantee the purchase of more licenses, seriously.

Justin and I could not figure it out over the last two days, I spent all day today rebuilding the environment thinking I missed something....NOT

Code:
Base Framework:  4.0.0.509
HPUX Ext: v7.0.0.9
Oracle Ext: v7.0.0.11

Point:  it WAS working before the upgrade (now re-install).

The problem, after reinstallation (from the SCOM agent to the BASE Framework and extensions).  After a successful SDK connection test, we try a Oracle DB connection test and can NOT get by the following error:

Connect: ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor.

OK, so we go to the db server in question and run these commands.

1. lsnrctl services VendavoDTI    (the Instance/SID)
The command completed Successfully

2. sqlplus tesetuser@VendavoDTI
> Password:  testuser1
> SQL
Connection Good, Credentials Good.

3. SQL > show parameter service_names
service_names                    string                VendavoDTI.dti.com

4. sqlplus testuser/testuser1@VendavoDTI
Successful

5. From the Proxy Server, ping dtidbp20
Successful

The listener.log shows this from my connection attempt

11-NOV-2009 18:31:53 * (CONNECT_DATA=(SERVER=DEDICATED)(SERVICE_NAME=VendavoDTI)(CID=(PROGRAM=D:\Program?Files\eXc?Software\WMI?Providers\nonWindows\Virtual?Agent?Library\MOM\Oracle\OracleTestConnection.exe)(HOST=DTIFS02)(USER=sidscp01))) * (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)(HOST=161.16.238.58)(PORT=4583)) * establish * VendavoDTI * 12514
TNS-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor

6. tnsping VendavoDTI    (executed on the database server)
OK (60msec)

I attached the tnsnames.ora to this post.

Please....please advise....

Hi all,

My company has implemented SCOM 2007 R2 and we want to know if Quest Software has a management pack for informix. We want to montor our database informix installed on a server AIX 5.3.

Can you tell me please if Quest has a connector to integrate the monitoring of informix database in SCOM 2007 R2 ? If yes, how does it works?

I need your help, it's an emergency!

Can a Quest Operations manager extension system be configured to communicate with two System Center Operations Manager management groups?

We currently use it to monitor non windows devices in SCOM 2007 R2, and would like to monitor to both the existing Ops Mgr system and a new SCOM 2012 system during a staged migration.

Can we install QMX and SCCM client on the same machine

Hello ,

We have QMX 4.0.5 installed with SCCM 2012. As sccm 2012 SP1 supports non windows clients, can sccm and QMX client can be installed on the same machine? Need to provide this input to management as they need to decide to go ahead with QMX or SCCM. We are aware of the client OS supported by SCCM and QMX.Please Help.

Also we have licensed version of QMX installed. How does QMX license work? Do we need to renew it after some years?

QMX v4 / SCCM 2012 / iPad Mgt Stopped Working

Hi,

I have had SCCM 2012 and QMXv4 extenstions working in my lab environment.  I was able to deploy profiles and applications to my iPad.  However, the environment has been switched off for the last 4 weeks.

After I started it up the environment again, using an iPad I tried to trust the device, this worked.  A Profile was available on the iPad.

I tried the next option which was to enroll the device, however I get the following error...."The QMX MDM service is unable to handle your request at this time.  Please contact your administrator".

I have confirmed that the QMX server is able to contact my domain controller, Certificate Authority Server, and ConfigMgr Server.

After examining the Application event logs, I can see the following error.

Event 10, NetworkDeviceEnrrollmentService

The Network Device Enrollment Service cannot retrieve one of its required certificates (0x80070057).  The Parameter is incorrect.

I have done some checking on what this error means and how to resolve it, but I was wondering if anyone has seen this before, or to suggest a possible solution.

Thanks

Steve

Gentleman, help !!!!

The Problem:
When we enable through the config tool, MOM/OpsMgrGlobalVariables/g_boolWriteOpsMgrPerfMetricsToDWDB (throu the agent)

we get the following (2) errors repeatedly on our RMS(production) server:

Ironically, writing the performance data TO the DW IS working, we check using this sql:

1. Log into your DW, start SQL Server Management Studio
2. Select your DW, select "new query"
3. In the query below, replace this value <edcdbd32> with a server that is monitored in your environment.

Run this query:

SELECT  DISTINCT ObjectName, CounterName,Cast(LEFT(Datetime,11)asdatetime)datetimeFROM         vManagedEntity INNERJOIN                      Perf.vPerfDaily ON vManagedEntity.ManagedEntityRowId = Perf.vPerfDaily.ManagedEntityRowId INNERJOIN                      vPerformanceRuleInstance ON                      Perf.vPerfDaily.PerformanceRuleInstanceRowId = vPerformanceRuleInstance.PerformanceRuleInstanceRowId INNERJOIN                      vPerformanceRule ON vPerformanceRuleInstance.RuleRowId = vPerformanceRule.RuleRowId  WHERE    (vManagedEntity.Fullname LIKE'%edcdbd32%') andDateTImeBETWEENGetdate()-90 andgetdate() --ORDER BY datetimeORDERBY Objectname, CounterName,datetime

It should return rows like this:  (what you are looking for is objectNames like the following):
SYS.V_SGASTAT
SYS.V_SGASTAT
SYS.V_SGASTAT
SYS.V_SHARED_POOL_RESERVED
SYS.V_SHARED_POOL_RESERVED
SYS.V_SHARED_POOL_RESERVED
SYS.V_SHARED_POOL_RESERVED
SYS.V_SHARED_SERVER_MONITOR
SYS.V_SHARED_SERVER_MONITOR
SYS.V_SYSSTAT
SYS.V_SYSSTAT
SYS.V_SYSSTAT

OK, so, I hate to cry WOLF, but I am really under the gun now, please advise, I have tried multiple things to resolve the issue, ironically, we did NOT see this in our development environment.  The difference between dev and prd is dev is R2 and prod is SCOM 2007 SP1, no other "real" difference I can put my finger on.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

PowerConnect counters in SCOM 2007 R2

$

I've implemented the QMX for Operations Manager and have my Dell PowerConnect servers put into the Administration Console, they are showing up in Operations Manager.

I'm specifically looking for network utilization, CPU, and the basic vitals for all my PowerConnects.

In the Dell PowerConnect Performance SCOM view, I only get one counter for each PowerConnect.  This object: connectivity, counter:"LATENCY_SECONDS".  Is there a way to get any additional counters? i.e. CPU and utilization rates?

It seems like a simple request, yet I'm having a hard time finding a product that can unify all of these stats (ideally in SCOM) without logging on to each PowerConnect's web GUI individually.

Thanks,
Jon

Quest QMX for non-Windows Version 4.0.0.519 with SCOM12 Agent?

$

Hello everybody!

Thanks in advance for your help!

Our environments (test and productive) are getting a SCOM 2012 migration. first the test environment of course

Here the Test Env. components:

SCOM 2007 R2

1 rms: OS Win 2008r2

1 mgmt. Server: OS Win2008 R2

1 QMX Server for monitoring of (MQSeries, VMWare and Websphere): OS Win2008 R2

QMX Product: Quest QMX for non-Windows

Version 4.0.0.519

1 SQL DB Cluster for all DBs

~50 SCOM Agents

now the situation:

The mgmt. Server has been already upgrade to 2012. Now the agents moved to pending management. so far so good!

and finally, here my question:

Does the monitoring of QMX still working after the update to the new SCOM12 Agent?

if not, wich steps should I do first?

Many Thanks for your help!

Unable to Register ISV Proxy

Hi all,

I am standing up a new SCCM site build and I am recieving the following error after running the SCCM connectivity tests

Unable to Register ISV Proxy: CSMSManagementPoint::SignHashHexEncode:CryptAcquireCertificatePrivateKey failed with error -2146885621: Cannot find the certificate and pricate key for decryption.

The certificate was exported and registered without error. QMX is installed on the same computer as SCCM.  I can see the certificate in the SCCM Console.

We are running SCCM2007 R3 with QMX base framework 4.0.6.67 on Server 2008R2

I compared my settings to my old machine and everything looks to be ok.  Any thoughts?
